MICHAEL A. GÓMEZ

MICHAEL A. GÓMEZ is Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the College of Charleston (South Carolina, USA), where he has taught since 2003. His research and teaching interests include the intersection of literature, philosophy and science in the texts and contexts of 19th and early 20th Century Spain. He is the author of such studies as “La casa de Bernarda Alba: A Nietzschean Reading,” “Unamuno and Schopenhauer: Art, Artistic Imagination and the Relation to Modernism,” “The Molyneux Problem in Galdós’s Marianela” and Sobre la ceguera y la visión: Cuatro novelas de Benito Pérez Galdós (Biblioteca Crítica de Literaturas Luso-Hispánicas, Ediciones del Orto, University of Minnesota). Professor Gómez served as the Editor of Spanish Literature and Culture for Decimonónica: Revista de Producción Cultural Hispánica Decimonónica from 2011 to 2016.

MICHAEL A. GÓMEZ es profesor titular de español en el Departamento de Estudios Hispánicos de la College of Charleston (Carolina del Sur, EE.UU.), donde ha enseñado desde 2003. Su investigación y sus intereses incluyen la enseñanza de la intersección entre la literatura, la filosofía y la ciencia en los textos y contextos de la España del siglo XIX y de principios del siglo XX.
